TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh and Ward 28 councillor Ayan Chakraborty distributed prasad from the Digha Jagannath Temple door-to-door across the ward on Tuesday morning. The distribution took place with traditional dhol and kartal, covering various localities using a van arranged by the councillor. The initiative aimed at delivering prasad to households throughout the area.
The programme follows Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s announcement during the temple inauguration, where she said that Jagannath Dham’s prasad would be distributed door-to-door across the state. In Kolkata, local councillors have taken up the task of distributing the prasad in their respective areas as part of the initiative.
While the state is officially using the Duare Ration network to distribute prasad through ration dealers, some councillors have begun collecting the prasad directly and distributing it themselves. In Ward 28, councillor Ayan Chakraborty carried out the distribution with Kunal Ghosh, delivering prasad directly to homes across the ward.
